Access in Winter

In the winter our holiday village is easily accessible:

car

By Car:

For guests arriving by car we recommend the boat trip to Keil-Gothenburg. This trip can be booked at www.stensaline.com
From the boat you just follow the road number 45 to Johannisholm (Approximately 420km). Road number 45 is kept free of snow very well. If you come by car we recommend that you have winter tires. Also check that your insurance will cover you for winter driving in sweden.

By Air:

For guests wishing to arrive by airthere are several possibilities

You can fly with different airlines to Stockholm Arlanda Airport. At Arlanda airport it is possible to rent a car. These cars are completely adapted to the Scandinavian winter and eben have engine heaters for easier starting. You drive with studded tires and seat heating is usually present. Some examples of car rental companies are Avis & Hertz. The distance from Arlanda airport to Johannisholm is about 350km.

You can take the train directly from Arlanda airport to Mora where you can rent a car or we can arrange a transfer for 200 SEK per person. The train fares and times can be viewed throught the website www.sj.se and you can also book tickets there. In Sweden you can buy a ticket that corresponds to your seat number so you have your own booked seat.

Another option is to fly to Oslo Gardermoen (Norway) and from there rent a car. Airlines flying to Oslo Gardermoen include SAS (www.sas.se). Some examples of car rental companies are Avis and Hertz. The Distance from Oslo Airport Gardermoen to Johannisholm is about 265 km.

You can fly cheaply with Ryanair (www.ryanair.com) to Stockholm-Skavsta. Keep in mind that you fly to Skavsta Airport, which is located 90 km south of Stockholm. The flights depart late usually meaning that you probably should stay in Stockholm or Nyköping. From Stockholm and Nyköping there are several daily trains to Mora. For any questions about transportation, you can of course email or call us.
