Winter camping

Winter camping on a bed of pine branches and reindeer skins.

With a little help from our guides you learn to make use of the available materials, snow and fallen branches, to build a shelter.

If you succeed and you are brave enough you can try sleeping out overnight!


Snowshoe walk

Some areas that are easy to reach in the summer become impossible to reach in winter.

How can we reach them? Simple: on foot! with special snow shoes that look a bit like tennis rackets.

You can walk over deep snow, frozen swamps and snowy hills.

In the magnificent surroundings you can only hear the crackling snow.

During the walk we stop on the hill for refreshments and hot-dogs!


Ice fishing

Ice fishing is a typical Swedish winter activity that you can have fun with.

You start by drilling a hole in the ice and then try your luck catching fish with special rods.

You help stay warm we have a fire and refreshments on the ice.


Snow mobile safari

With the snowmobile you can reach special places and cover more distances on the snowmobile tracks.

Be sure that such a journey through the Swedish winter will never be forgotten.

Along the way we stop for a delicious hot chocolate.


Dog sledge tour

Have you ever dreamed of a sleigh ride, pulled by a team of enthusiastic huskies?

This can be arranged!

The journey itself is spectacular and the area’s extraordinary beauty adds an extra dimension.

A winter adventure for all ages.


Skiing and snowboarding

Wide, quiet slopes and even real snowboard parks are within easy reach of Johannisholm.

There are beginner’s slopes plenty of challenges for the more advanced.

Regardless of skill level you can ski on your own or our guides will give you instruction and lessons.

We arrange hire of all necessary ski and snowboard equipment for you.


Cross country skiing

Ski trails at several ski resorts are within easy reach of Johannisholm.

We arrange hire of all necessary cross country ski equipment for you.

Our guides provide all necessary instruction and make sure you get off to a good start on the tracks!


Ice skating

Skating tracks are regularly prepared on several lakes within easy reach.

Often we use the tracks on Sandviken Mora.

We can provide traditional “long distance” skates which strap on over your books, for those who do not have their own skates.


Curling

Curling is a sport in which players slide smooth granite “stones” over an ice sheet at a target area that is divided into four rings.

It’s related to bowls and it’s a great sport in which to challenge your friends.

Lantern walk

We set off into the forest at night with lanterns to light the way.

Finding the way may be difficult, but our guides can help if the going gets to tough!.


Ice carting

Go-carts on ice!

The wheels have sharp studs on to give you some grip.

But go too fast on a curve and you could spin off!

Try your skill to get to the finish line first!
